Nevada Stallion Stakes :
Greetings from the Nevada Stallion Stakes and Elko County NRCHA Show!

We are looking forward to seeing you at the 19th annual Nevada Stallion Stakes and the 2nd annual Elko County NRCHA Show & LAE to be held August 23rd & 24th 2008 in Elko, Nevada.

A big thank you to The Progressive Ranch and The Nevada Rancher for printing our results last year. We had a glich with the Quarter Horse News and the Cascade Horseman, which should be resolved now, and the 2008 results should be printed in all 4 magazines, and listed on our website.

The Nevada Stallion Stakes will continue without change. We added 2 classes to the NRCHA show, the Youth Limited and the Non Pro Limited. Both classes do rein work and boxing a cow only. For those over 50 you can drop back to the Non Pro Limited Class, check with NRCHA (580-759-4949) for details. All other classes do herd work, rein work and fence work. The cutting pen will be a little larger. We will have a riders meeting prior to the class starting.

Entries for the NRCHA show are due August 15th. Entry payments for the Nevada Stallion Stakes are due July 1 and August 1. Stallion nominations are due May 1. See the rules for late payments.

Checks for the Nevada Stallion Stakes will be available each afternoon in the fair office. Checks for the NRCHA Show will be mailed after the show. Payout for the Nevada Stallion Stakes last year was over $13,000 cash plus numerous awards. The added money for the NRCHA show is $1200.

Our judges are 3-A Judge Gary Putnam from California and 3-A Judge Marilyn Peters from Oklahoma.

New this year, you can make your payments by Visa or Mastercard.

All forms and results will be posted on the Elko County Fair website, www.elkocountyfair.com.

NRCHA Hall of Fame Cowboy, Kenny Pugh, will be in Elko June 14th & 15th to do a clinic for us. We will start with herd work and see where that takes us. Limited to 10 riders. Cost is $350 for 2 days. No charge for spectators. To register call 775-753-6633.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call or email.

Sincerely,

Mary Journigan
